As future is high speed trains, Railway should start upgrading tracks on main routes to high speed type whenever replacement is done. Many old bridges be replaced etc thus investment will be totally useful. This Talgo is a good idea but speed 300 to 450KM/Hr is the future.
UPA wanted to introduce such trains almost a decade ago. They did not want to do it as they realized that they can form govt. without initiating such things as they know that there are several converts in India who did not want to associate with BJP and its allies.
Run these trains on Mumbai Ahemdabad route to complete journey in around 3 hours instead of bullet trains.... Investment will be 1/10th, profits will show from day one.

we need bullet trains as well. How can we depend on air travel? If we get bullet trains, it helps in several factors. It helps to decongest cities. People need not put their entire savings to pay to the builders and banks just to buy a flat. They can purchase a bungalow in their hometown.
