Everywhere.

It's often a human error of judgement often thru over-confidence.

Sometimes a deliberate lapse to save time and money.

The advanced digital technology leaves little room for such trajedies that are often results of human overruling the cautions that machines forewarn.

A deeper investigation would reveal the over indulgence of a human mind.

An engineer erred.

Deliberately or otherwise.

This is not the era of Abdul Rehman Antulay.

by raju on Apr 01, 2016 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

L1 will be awarded. To reduce price quality will be foregone.
Ministers to be bribed
Babus to be bribed
Where from will the construction company manage.
Reduce quality by reducing minimum required quantity of materials.
Let few lives go. Let babus politicians officials contractor be happy.
India is a great country.
We are proud only telling Bharat mata ki Jai. But, never practice any sincerity.
We all citizen who do only preaching need to be hanged and new thinking young generation need to come.

How are these things are still happening??
by shailesh on Apr 01, 2016 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

(1) Govt should invest in research as 100000 crores rupees are going to be invested in this infrastructure building sector and seek to build/procure modern tools from countries who have streamlined these processes and have been doing it well for quite some time.

(2) The government should have an audit process for this... where these developments are routinely audited by teams (audit players being private parties) and reports generated on quality of constructions as well as due diligence/adherence regarding processes followed while construction.

The Contractor Built 69 spans and on 70th span it collapsed. The supporting system was ok. There might be some tech snag.
