All ideologies like Capitalism, Socialism, Trusteeship, Monarchy, etc,., do work subject to their spirited implementation focused on welfare of all. When any ideology is used as a political vehicle it does yield only chaos, pain and suffering to public, boosting corruption so that a few at the helm of affairs get ballooned. India that has traveled from Socialism to privatization over a span of 68 years, is one of the best examples how to exploit the ideologies without regards to sectors, education to coals, costing public beyond imagination making a few richer and richer.
Govt not bold enough otherwise some disinvestment could have been done.Loss making P.S.Us should either be closed down or sold of but in no way should they be bailed out.
The author asks why did the NDA announce such a high target for divestment in the first place ? Doesn't need rocket science. The idea as in all matters, is to hype things up and create headlines and a BUZZ. Later since public memory is short, quietly shelve the plans. We see this in almost every activity the NDA Govt has taken up.
Must be everywhere wherever possible. This will boost economy. So far our mind set had been towards left wing, as such we see them with doubt, whereas none is lesser, money goes to govt. Babus and politicians. Money will go may be to different hand, but we need development not politics.
