Mumbai is 1000 times better than Delhi.
by Hindustani on Nov 03, 2015 12:09 PM

"Delhi, as a city, has improved in many ways in the recent past"

haahahahahahaa,

that's the biggest lies I have heard recently.

You ask any person in India, he will tell you

that Delhi is the WORST city in India.

In Delhi the people are so much THUGS that even

almost all taxi driver will loot you. It's

a national crime and rape capitol of India

( NCR ) where women can't even walk on roads

in the evening time. There's uncontrollable

Goondaism, eve-teasing, insecurity in Delhi.

Problem of water, electricity, contagious

diseases in Delhi.

And you are saying Delhi is improved?

You must be a AAM AADMI supporter otherwise

you wouldn't have said that.

Mumbai is 1000 times better than Delhi even if

I agree that it is not, what it was used to be

at one time.

Mumbai Meri Jaan..Delhi Politician ki shaan!!!
by GV on Nov 03, 2015 12:04 PM

You cannot compare mumbai to delhi as inspite of being the Financial Capital, the money is flown outside the city for development of the other parts of the state or the so called Capital. Trust, if we use 20% of the taxes paid by the Mumbaikars on Mumbai development it would e better than Shanghai,,,,Anytime...Delhi is been pampered as they need to maintain the standard for the international consulates, the polticians stay etc etc..It looks like all the bueracracy lies in Mumbai only and all the projects in Delhi completes by timelines...i wonder how considering both the city are part of India..Food for thought.

Also Mumbai is unique because of urban culture

As everyone knows caste based discrimination is worst form of social evil in India. The more urban the society, the less castist it is and the more rural and underdeveloped the most castist. Why in Bihar people vote on caste basis? It is still most backward state. One of the solution an economist gave to planning commission is to eradicate caste system better education, more urbanization and parental values are more important than force. Mumbai set up is such the place is diverse and if anyone saw an interview of Lee Kuan Yew the father of modern Singapore and person responsible for Asian ecnomic miracle he said India is divided into groups and Mumbai is the only place where people from all over India lives and eat together and everyone feels at home even though with many negatives like social environment and pathetic infrastructure. But if you can make whole India like mumbai then you have a different India. The workplace and cultural set up in India is such there is a meritocracy and value for talent than personal preference of caste or ethnic mix... Mumbai has its own charm and cultural diversity and multicultural set up in civil society

I Beg to differ on the infrastructure issue.the fact is that Mumbai, since long, has best public transport in India. Its only that entire city travels from suburbs to South Mumbai in the morning and back in the evening which puts pressure on the public transport and other infra facilities.
Otherwise nothing wrong with infra.Infact its a false propaganda that infra is pathetic.

Well said sridhar. Mumbai is the only place in India where all types of community people live. That itself speaks about unity. Above all Mumbai is always busy since all the people are into some kind of business, be it small or big and also into job. People do not have time to think nor gossip nonsense. Althouh i am a southindian i love Mumbai. Three cheers to Mumbai.

Earlier I hated Mumbai but with growing age and little mature I felt in love with the city again. Out of 1000 negatives, where you would get a city where you can see a mini India? Not even delhi comes close. South Mumbai is metrapolis where you have mix of parsi, early migrants and settlers from all over india particularly fishermen of original inhabitants and main market and offices at nariman point and nearby area. South Mumbai property rates can give competition to any city in world. Then in Central you have mix of maharashtrians and as you move to suburb and reach bandra you get the taste of portugese and goanese catholic culture and currently it is queen of suburbs boast of attractive eateries and hang out place then you move from Jogeshwari to Borivali you have strong Gujrati community. You go to seacost near malad and borivali and near seacost you have fishermans and kohli community. Then move to thane and new mumbai again the settlers from other part of maharashtra. Matunga and other few areas have strong south indian community and in area near parel in places you have strong punjabi community. The city is a metrapolis and diverse. It has negatives too but because of fusion and diversity it has its own charm.
