Why help from China?
by biswanath roy on May 20, 2015 08:35 PM  | Hide replies

This NDA govt has advertised every week that India will be overtaking China's growth rate this fiscal, then why are we allotting this huge HSR project to China, this will give them huge business & directly help them earning good revenue in this era of subdued business. Frankly speaking the NDA govt is obsessed with China & infact is jealous of the tremendous growth that country has achieved in this one & half decade.

We would have gone with Japanese or European technologies which are proven and reliable. Chinese come across too many accidents in China hence people are afraid of on-boarding Bullet trains

Absolutely! there are hardly one or two railways in the world that earn profit by running bullet trains. These are white elephants for even developed economies, and Govt will need to keep funding them to run them at least

Why does every perk, privilege and new project have to start with Delhi? It may be the capital but there should be a rational assessment of where there is maximum demand and neccessity.
Too much pampering has resulted in the people of Delhi feeling a false sense of entitlement. Remember, Delhi's sole claim to any distinction is that it is a rape capital.

Bullet train

I am very happy to see that India is coming towards the developed nations. Bullet trains from Mumbai to Ahmadabad and Delhi Chennai are going to be land mark in India. I visited number of European countries and always felt why India can not have speed train and bullet train. In fact I will be happy if govt can make all the Rajdhani Express as speed train and people will not mind paying 30-40% extra fair.

Waste of Public Money.

This is sheer waste of Public Money. You require to work for 20 yrs to work for completion of project, and after completion, the cost of ticket is unaffordable.
If remove the taxes on AirFares, Fuel, Airfare becomes much cheaper than Bullet trains. Learn from US, with $30/- Fare u could go coast to coast.

Useless Project.
Metro Rail project started in chennai on 2008., Till now it is not operational for least distance of 3 to 6 Kms.
Got clearance for single track operation now, We don't know when it will be operational after speny around 20000 Crore.
