Agriculture is grossly neglected
by Jayaprakash Balan on Feb 21, 2017 02:21 PM

Its sad that though Modi and his Govt. might be doing different things for agriculture, it is nevertheless reaching nowhere near the expectations to give a big push and boost to our agriculture. Sadly, even Modi's priority is business and other things than the basic of every human being's need, agriculture. If he was really feeling as a sons of soil and true Indian, he should have put his full thrust and resources on priority on farming and agriculture. He could enough expert advise on eminent people who has worked tirelessly in the field of agriculture to find out steps and moves to boost our agriculture which is the only sector which can produce abundant employment to all. But probably, being a Gujju, Modi's mindset is only towards business, earnings and profit. What is the use of all the development if our farmers are struggling and dying to survive. What is the use of development if every Indian has to spend out more money to buy the basic food required for survival, when easily we can get it quite cheaply, if our agriculture is booming. Modi may be better than his earlier counterparts in thinking of different steps and decisions to curb blackmoney and infuse development, all this is of no use to majority of people if agriculture is not flourishing because blackmoney and development is only useful to 20% to 30% of people of India.

SUSTAINING AGRICULTURE AND PREVENTING FARMERS SUICIDE
by Parameswaran s on Jan 26, 2016 01:22 PM

The Government is promoting Agricuiture and thereby farm production with Interest Subvention Scheme. The eligible farmers are not getting the benefit. The benefit is cornered by the rich, who are not all farmers. Interest subvention is provided to loans availed against Gold Loans, which are not at all used for agricultural purposes. To prevent misutilisation of Interest Subvention ,Interest subvention should not be provided for Gold Loans, even though they are ostensibly granted for Agricuiture flouting all norms.Bank officials resort to granting Gold Loans to achieve their target for agricultural credit with ease.

Kissan
by Sankar Pujari on May 26, 2015 08:45 AM

Only construction of canals and modern method of agriculture can save farmers. Otherwise suicide of Kissan will continue forever. Present generation not likes to work like KISSAN. Hence, Govt. should provide all types of agricultural machines like Tractors, Crop cutting machine etc. which are used by European farmers on 30% subsidy basis . MONREGA fund should be diverted for the above purpose by which a permanent solution can be achieved.

A large POND in every village is needed
by shailesh on May 24, 2015 02:27 PM

It should be constructed by villagers themselves, using MNREGA money - showing true democracy: by the people, for the people, of the people.

Then, irrigation system/connections from village pond to farmlands should be built using MNREGA money.

Proper storage of water and use of water is one thing that can turn around whole of economy.

Food to all, export surplus -> money for hygiene and education to all --> properous country.

You cannot run without weak lega, agriculture sector are the legs of the country!

solar power grid station is must for agriculture
by Sheikh Akber on May 23, 2015 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

govt. must invest heavily in areas where there is scope for high production but suffering due to power or water issues, solar power station should help farmers immensely to get water through pumps from far flung places, govt. can laid a pipe line and effectively use solar power to get water from other states, dams, rivers, lakes and also will light up villages and can also be used agri-allied activities, govt, should look into this direction.

If what all you say, is done, what promises Politicians can make during elections? If all these are done, farmers will be more aware of things & hey will not vote corrupt Politicians. Hence our corrupt politicians (present in all the parties, one way or the other) do not want farmers to benefit from farming but be at the mercy of local financier/sahukar and get the votes thru the financiers (mostly politicians themselves)
