the MSP talked about at 50 percen plus is very good; who will see to it that the communists, congress, sp, jdu et el would not then cry about mehengai. it is not acceptable that salaried persons pay for higher prices to farmers and then pay increased income tax for subsidising.

Green revolution?

So, this is the guy who poisoned the farms of entire country? Instead of reviving age old indian wisdom in farming, he made this a market for fertilizers (who were the companies florished in WWII and had no market for their chemicals and quickly converted to fertilizer companies).

The same crop diseases aren't around to revert to 'age old Indian wisdom' each time. Why don't you share something constructive instead? Belittling what he has achieved only makes you look cynical.

No govt. does not understand the science, nature and land, as people there are devoid of those knowledges. This govt. is of small vendor and big industrial house, who do not bother on those. A country rich in food, mineral and nature is really strong, as every thing else follows. We should invest heavily in man and money on these, instead of diluting those. How nature takes it own course is very much visible and we should have defence against those not with Pakistan as foremost.

Father of Green revolution as such was Dr Norman Borlough

Our scientists have failed to even improvise on what he had done though farmers were quick to lap up the mexican wheat. Tell me what matching tech breakthrough our agri scientists leave alone the administrators like Dr Swaminathan did to take credit for green or blue or white or pink revolution except churning our words and phrases. China produces twice as much food grains from the same area of land as we in India because they have double the yields. Our yields are still below the world average not to talk about the best in the world. So what have all these mothers and fathers of revolutions done?

MODIJI suggested in one of his speeches that schools colleges have chemical laboratories that are closed for APRIL MAY 2 months so use these labs for soil exam for better cultivation of seeds with minimum wastage of water I feed any school has come forward to help farmers voluntarily to test so it is GAP of communication between farmers who are depressed and GOVT machinery who get regular funds salary promotions till date? now if responsibilities are fixed on agriculture offices to help farmers for reducing depression will be extremely successful step

A perfect rejoinder to the American based economic advisors who have unwisely been inducted into our system. They don't realise that the Govt's first responsibility is to feed its people. Good that Mr Modi has formulated a National Irrigation Policy. Mr Jaitley must now implement the MSP mechanism suggested by MS , even if it means difficulty for our middle classes who are so used to being pampered and cuddled. In Brazil and Turkey, food prices are quite high ( almost European levels) , but the people there are willing to support their farmers , unlike here.

As Dr.Swamy Nathan mentiones,we have too many arm chair American accented people telling modi what he must do.But what modi must do is get rid of arun jaitely, piyush goel, and similar aimless people and take in Dr.Swamy, Ram jethmalani, Dr.Swaminathan etc who will talk less but take country forward.By now it is clear that Modi is not able to grasp as to how to take country forward. This is because he understands buying

So far every govt. including Modi govt. has looked after only politicians and govt. servants, others are just public and tax payers for them to be exploited as when needed. Look everywhere this class is the only elite class, living with all pension, medical etc., till death.
If Modi is serious, he must promise that at least one member in a family will be guaranteed employment at minimum wages, money can easily be made available, if we cut DA linked perqs. and retiral of all govt. servants.
Can this sacrifice for poor and country be done as a system.
