PLUG THE HUGE HOLES SO THAT ONLY THERE CAN BE RESULTS
by MMK Rao on Mar 16, 2015 03:02 PM

No budgetary measures will ensure their objectives to be realised even to the extent of 25% unless and until the administration for implementing them is first ridden of the entrenched corruption and its unholy nexus with politicians and contractors and other interested parties involved. It is not so much which particular sectors are given attention, more , or less, or first time, with allocations. A huge amount of pesticides and insecticides is required to prevent the leakages and outright loots during implementation. This is a relatively perpetual issue we have been facing, but no government has had the will to address. Perhaps the people themselves have not got serious enough.

I suggest following ammendments to be made in the union budget for 2015-16:
1. Enact uniform service tax system or GST throughout the year from the current financial year itself
2. propose high saving scheme for senior citizens that assure 11% monthly interest to them,
3. Reduce service tax from the proposed 14.5% to 10 % and bring more services under the purview of service tax regime,
4. Mop up collection of direct taxes for the financial year 2015-16,
5. Maintain the corporate tax at the existing 30% level,
6. Provide tax exemption to people drawing Rs 3 lacs per annum,
7. Increase budget allocation for Pharma research and indigenous defence production,
8. Provide more budgets for primary healthcare and education,
9. Overhaul the existing mining acts that are brought by previous congress governments,
10. Scrap MANREGA scheme of the previous Congress Government,
11. Promote Public private partnership for infrastructure projects like roads, railway tracks and signalling, ports and airports,
12. Hasten the disinvestment process for highly ill and closed PSUs in the country,
13. Bring competitiveness in the public sector banks,
14. Enhance FDI limit in insurance sector from existing 49 % to 100% and make mandatory for insurance companies to bring lucrative saving plans for customers,
15. Announce measures to recover NPAs of banks

More are in the list which should be included in the next budget of the modi government.

Jai Hind,
Niraj Chandra Srivastwa
