But alas, an essential wisdom not understood until it is too late, by most Indians who are now derisively called by the Americans as NRIs or Non-Returning Indians. Reason for this pathetic situation: In India these NRIs more often starve for comfort and ease (more often even with maknutrition or undernourishmen)t whike the same hunger "sharpens their wits" and goads them to study hard, pay through the nose and get an MS, from some university or tge other, less often from MIT, Caltech, Stanford or like renowned ones. And all but a handful have any inclination in to pursue higher studies (PhD), land a job which is mostly software. Most ofvthem are unable to adapt yo the vastly different sociocultural environment but not knowing the wayout, suffer it, with some superficial cultural frivolties from India (cheap entertainments by visiting Indian griups who want mass-appeal for their offers due to marketing needs of box office. A small fraction, having put in a few years' sercpvice have the luck to return on transfer with India/Asia posting, another having worked with a long term idea, a vision to serve in motherland, finding it indeed most welcome and rewarding, set up startups, some if them with topnotch university credentials or having learnt some core technology, return to India and being mostly happy, do rarely think of " returning" to the US/ West.
