The faulure of ULBs is not money and resources but coarptn, coraptn and corapsion. One more fact is that ULBs have great resources and that is why corapsion. Take one classic example of undevided AP state. In this state during early 2000 that is 1998-2004 there was one massive programme called APUSP -urban services for the poor funded by DFID. Incidentally it was headed by One IAS who is presently head of big CITY mun corpn. Let any one go and evaluate that DFID programme called APUSP and tell people that money is the cause for lack of development. This programme was about a budget of 600 crores. Go and ask the then head of APUSP did he do any justice to the programme did he ensure that munpalties under APUSP programme improved at least by 1%? Hope TS govt is seaing this mesge and will ask the Commnr of Mun corpn Mr.sm
Nothing can improve in cities unless mass exodus of village people to cities in search of works, as there is no meaning in living in villages any more.First improve the villages, bring city facilities, industries, business etc to villages so that jobs can be generated there itself. Present Govt's Land bill is quite supportive of above for making drastic changes, only if properly implemented without political bias.
Local Body government is most corrupt, What kind of the service they give, water not come regularly in people house, Government not take responsibility of Slums is the most dirty place to Live in India, India's most of the taxes goes in corruption then why we comparing the taxes with country which have advance Infrastructure planning not giving any trouble to their citizen. In rain water blockage is common in every city. Road holes are common in India.

correct said brother.Even if we give 100percent in property tax, nothing will come out of it as teh governments servants will use this money for thier own use instaed of developing the country.British people and moghuls did loot our country but they gave some munumental things like education system, varios beautiful structures like taj mahal but our own govt nd own people are looting our own india totally without even giving anything for the country. i feel this was reason why the outside foreign people like british and moghuls attacked us as we were so busy in corruption :(
All the services rendered by MCs like water, sewerage, roads etc are charged by respective corporations. Therefore any form of tax by MCs is a pure loot. See the Bombay Municipal Corporation is sitting on bank FDs of more than 30000 crores inspite of wasting funds on digging roads every now and then.

Dear All, Even in India techniques are available to process garbage and make it economically attractive garbage can be made into manure can produce gas and to produce energy which should be approved by municipalities all over India which will make demand and supply even for garbage dumps because there is economical viable demand for same.Then only the next feature of penalizing those who dump garbage in public places.The western world Singapore and other countries are clean because there the fine is huge if you throw garbage in the public places.Even hawkers slums should not be ignored if you have to make India clean and make India the most beautiful destination in the world.
All cities are mismanaged. Even in Gujarat. MC is not effective. Roads are damaged.Water logging is everywhere.All cities are dirty. Roads are full of animals. Stray Dogs. Citizens r also not responsible. They keep pets
