There is no doubt that some extremely good work has been done in Gujarat which has so far been unprecendented in rest of country. Modi has also shown that if the government and people are willing,Indian cities can be transformed to a lot. Gujarat fortunately had both. But in other parts either one or both the lacking. Land acquisition by governments remains one of the biggest bottleneck in the country where as it was easy in Gujarat. The reason being that Gujrathis being traditionally in business could multiply the cash received thru land much faster that other people who have no business facilities in their states.

Gujarat is an industrial state in India starting from 1947 when compared with other Indian states, even during Congress period many heavy industries have started in Gujarat
Very important point to be noted is that congress GOV at the center purposely did give permission for vital infra projects for Gujarat.According to News reports some 65,000 odd permissions where pending when Modi came at centre.

Congress party uses North Indians for agitations and diverts all investments to South India.
Modi has created only hype, truelly Bangalore is much much better than gujarath and no comparision to bangalore.Just take the figure how many people migrate to bangalore ,mumbai and Ahmedabad. Just take the figure of how many kannadigas are migrating and migrated to ahmedabad and how many gujaratis every day migrate from gujrat to other states will tell the fact. At least Mr. Modi, stop giving wrong facts

Bangalore - how many hours of power supply you have? How many gallons of water supply you get per day? What about the crime rate? Show me proper pavements infront of any IT parks in Bangalore. You just exit IT parks and it looks like a big slum surrounding it.
Ahmedabad is definitely one of the better cities and to a certain extend with all the changes coming under Modi regime, the city should be rated better than Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata which had all the resources in place, but no one like Modi who wanted to make their cities the best place in the world. Every growing town and cities should be emulating he best practises that was made in Ahmedabad, mainly atleast to reduce slums and neatness. But all said, definitely things have to change a lot in Ahmedabad else we wonder inspite of Modi and all the best things happening why is Ahmedabad not a preferred city for anybody like Bangalore, Hyderabad or Pune. Modi needs to ponder on this.
Ahmedabad, amongst India's so called 5 million metros, is the least preferred by MNCs, because of the snob attitude & mentality of its people, who are exclusively vegetarian, & do not accomodate non-veg people. For a city of over 6 million, it has hardly any 5 star hotel, leave alone presence of hotel chains like HILTON,INTERCONTINENTIAL,SHANGRI LA,WALDORF ASTORIA group etc. Moreover the author has rightly mentioned that Ahmedabad lags behind in having IT skill personnels, which is abundant in Bengaluru,Hyderabad,Pune,Gurgaon,Kochi, leave apart the old 4 metros. Ahmedabad is still an old fashioned traditional Indian business city, flourishing in gem/diamond/cotton wholesale trade. Chances of gift city becoming a hit is unlikely,as rightly mentioned by the author.

As far as tradition is concerned.you can not blame the government for that, cos gov cant change the tradition and culture. Tradition and culture evolve.Governments job is to facilitate business and ensure governance which modi has done well.As far as IT is concerned companies like TCS and WNS have started setting up there facilities there.
