Air India

You have rightly said, taking the ownership for running Air India successfully is probably the main reason. Apart from the political and bureaucratic interference has made the airlines noncompetitive. Interaction of staff with the passengers is not warmth. Air hostesses should be young and energetic especially for long route journey. Taking feedback from the passengers and proper analysis may improve the service. Management should be given freehand to take decision in respect of the fare, schedule of flights. free tickets etc. Nevertheless the chairman should have enough experience in running a airline business and Air India should be an autonomous entity.
