All the media that are reporting this issue are saying one thing-- "loss of over Rs 1.8 crore (Rs 18 million) was caused to the exchequer by use of such large number of high capacity ISDN lines at Maran's Boat House Road residence in Chennai." As has been pointed out by Sri. Gurumurthy in his article in the New Indian Express, only the 'expense' for putting up the exchange at his residence has been 1.8 crores. The loss due to the misuse of the dedicated lines for transmission of video images ( for Sun Tv network) run to a few hundred crores. Responsible media like Rediff should not give wrong information and misguide the public.
