difficult place to do business??
by Bodh Ramdeo on Jan 17, 2015 07:04 AM

With over 90% of the masses having a spending power of less than $2 per day, thre's no 'disposable' income to speak of, so where will the required discretionary spending come from???

bjp will swallow everything they said

And allow fdi in retail. Just wait and watch.

The real difference between congress and bjp is bjp is blatantly religious party. Congress, through its inept leaders, has been pushed to over support minorities, which don't vote for them since90s.

In spite of Nokia getting tax holidays for years, free electricity, water and added to that new roads from their factories to highways, etc. they left Tamilnadu saying that now they have to pay tax!!! So think of all BS multinationals they are the same. They want to loot our country with the tax payers money. Ask Iyer what percentage they gave to congis & babus for getting this much!!!

Why congress? Are you afraid to say the truth, that bjp, especially Gujarat is wooing Wal-Mart? After all that noise about multibrand retail, bjp and Modi has swallowed every thing they said, and now following congress line.

These multi-nationals want to pay wages that will not be acceptable even in Zulu Land or Timbuktu, leave alone a growing economy like India. Of course, it is difficult to do business in India because these companies cannot play the race card and avoid paying taxes. India does not need Walmarts at this point. Their investment in European countries is different from their in India, and even then they are not liked in Europe.

Walmart- Not easy to do business in India
by paliakara narayanan sreenivasan on Jan 16, 2015 07:01 PM  | Hide replies

Poor Chap, Walmart Now only realised it is not easy to do business (Loot) in India, that too only after putting an Iyer in Charge. The expertise in this has now shifted from East India Company. We have other names for it and they are right here in India. Coin a Partnership and Walmart can succeed.
