EX of Air India gives perfect working style of persons in power succumbing to their political masters mostly so called third front (now known as Janta Parivar) and UPA (mainly Congress and NCP). Day is not far when even Jet will go the way Kingfisher way because ￿E WHO DIGS PITS FOR OTHERS FALLS IN IT SOONER OR LATER

Private Airline truly destroyed Indian Civil Aviation in a truly systematic, organized and ruthlessly.
The suffers are the Indian citizens particularly all the three forms of middle class - Upper Middle class,, middle-Middle class and lower middle class....For Rich and Poor no amount of changes matters. The have cushion and poor people just do not even ook at the airport.

Oh! come on....if it wasn't for private airlines, most of wouldn't be flying at all. Will be trying to get a ticket on Indian Railway! Yes, there are problems in aviation field and I believe it is not a level playing field. As a customer, what do you want? Travel from point A to point B at a reasonable price at a time you want to fly. When we had only Indian Airlines, it was impossible to get a seat to where you want to go. Things have defenitley changed for the better.

Goyal sahib made sure that pockets of UPA minsters are full. Infact to add he created problem for getting Indigo into the business which has eaten his share now..When he though the business in loss, he bough the Etihad to buy his share.. The price eitihad paid is not for junk debt of Jet but the 35k seats they got and he got the broker ship..With Tata coming in we can expect some honesty in the aviation sector..!

Business is for open challenge let it be national or private or partnership so why to blame private airlines for this????? National carriers is in problems because of miss-managements and ego problems of the IA/AI workers they are thinking always superiors from the customers. SO correct yours message headline as it is blaming and rubbish talks

How private airlines destroyed Indian aviation!

The red carpet was laid by Indian Airlines only. The way their employees treated themselves & their management as erstwhile Maharajahs at the cost of poor customers & government funding was to be seen to be believed. They had plenty of opportunities to be responsible to customers & run it professionally. Now after destroying the airline they have left the space open for private players to fleece the customers in the name of service. Nobody but Air India & Indian Airlines to be blamed for the mess the passengers are in today. The companies are least bothered because the money is not theirs. So, who bothers?

Well Articulated...

Well said indeed. As a keen observer of business of airline carriers, in my 20 years of existence on the US west coat, I have been hoping that someday I would fly home from SFO or LAX on an Air-India flight. That dream has remained unfulfilled and looking at the politics of civil aviation in India and things you have so well articulated, it probably will never be fulfilled. The bay area is a second home to millions of Indian diaspora, yet it's been the Asian carriers or the Emirates that have reaped significant business out of our population. No Air-India so far. One has to just travel on this sector on any airline, to see the percentage of Indians in the flight. Always felt Air-India and thus the government have simple lost millions of gains. That's the thing about us - politicians and bureaucrats never put country first and unlikely they ever will. Tragedy for a great nation that has always remained with unfulfilled potential. Cronyism and Sycophancy rules but not rational politics of progress and country first.

Fail to understand how can a nation of unfulfilled potential and abounding tragedies in every sphere of life be called "GREAT" !!!
Better to choose the words correctly. The people needs to be shown the mirror on an hourly basis. Hopefully that would spur us to attain mediocrity at least in some fields of life. Excellence??? Never!!!

Well said Mr. Mark. Actually your remark was very apt and true. We Indians need more people from outside as we ourselves are too weak and feeble to bring a positive change in the country by our own. This is because when foreigners/Non Indians could understand our problem and can even present and explain in these forums in such a lucid manner, then we should be more better at solving them. Sadly it is not true and we really need help from Samaritans like you. I know this post of mine would not be liked and taken positively by several of my patriotic/Indian countrymen but fact is fact and I have no qualms in saying a spade a spade. thx & rgds
