What totally missing from this missive is The Sole Reason for initiating "reforms'. MMS was no reformer..he was as staunchly pro-Stalinist economic ideology as all the other Congies and economist of this sorry land. The unravelling of the Soviet Onion saw India's #1 trading (bartering) partner staring at economic oblivion, in the process leaving India in the same quandry. To avert total national bankruptcy, India had to approach the IMF for a lifeline. The to get the loan they had to not only physically pledge their gold reserves, but to that they can repay the loans, they had to initiate economic reforms...and the rest is history.
P V Narasimha Rao, the economic architect of modern India, a visionary par excellence and a hugely envied statesman, has fast forwarded India's growth. If the private sector has ever created so many jobs and if the middle class of India are ever smiling it is due to P V Narasimha Rao saheb, the modern Chanakya..
He not only corrected a grave balance of payments situation, but also brought in MMS, the then governor of RBI, to liberalize, globalize and privatize (LPG) and to initiate economic reforms, along with disinvestment, which truly integrated India with the world and allowed middle class to reap the fruits of reforms.
It brought down, inaction, corruption and red-tapism in government establishments and brought more accountability and productivity, while govt. held key sectors under its control.
Today India is one of the top-10 economies in the world and under the stewardship of sri Modiji, it will further leapfrog to a regional superpower. I'm sure, India will mitigate hunger, poverty and illiteracy and unemployment very very soon and truly emerge as a global player.
After his death, Sonia led CongMorons, insulted PV saab and forced his body to be cremated at Hyderabad instead of Delhi. It would be a fitting tribute, if he is given Bharat Ratna, at least posthumously..
the congress party never has recognised PVN's achievements .. because of its fixation with the family .. and bcos he was outside the coterie .. And tried all its means to pull him down . PVN was also the only congress PM who was also well respected by the opposition ..

I truly agree, PV is the PM so far for Independent India. But well he didn't cared his recognition, he cared about India's future. He was man of "Walk the walk Skip the talk"

PVN will always remain in the minds of people who understand his contribution. People who have pledged their brain can never appreciate the same.
It was PVN who brought reforms inspite of congress and congressmen like Arjun Singh, ND Tiwari, Ajit Singhs and likes. After Modi, PVN was the only pro people PM. I remeber how difficult it was to get a simple things like a scooter, TV, radio(one had to pay license for radios), telephones(forget about cell phones) and many other things like hand loans(credit cards) etc. Both PVN and Vajpayee govt. were the best government hitherto Hope Modi also does a PVN and Vajpayee

if he was nt recog by cong how he was made PM by cong party? If he was so respected by Opp then why opp filed case against him and jailed for 2 yrs? It is all politics and played as suits to time.
It is the Congress under the Late Narasimha Rao that ushered an era of unprecedented change that has laid a strong foundation for later regimes. If the BJP stops blaming the Congress and take full advantage of this solid platform, then it will be voted to power, But if it continues with it's Ghar Whapasi and other unnecessary rhetoric and keeps it's poll promise on teh Economic front, it can hope for a comeback. Else it is doomed too and Young India will vote for a New Brand.

Yes and the Congress humiliated and insulted Mr. Rao. He was the only Congress PM who was worth anything.

very well said. madam wanted his last rituals to be performed in Hyderabad only and didn't want a official function at Delhi. But who cares..people will always rate him as the best PM.. It will take the Prince a 1000 years to reach PVN's heights.
