without risk taking , there cannot be growth . Unless u have a grand vision u cannot outdo urself..!! if u are easily satisfied with current situation .. u have no real hope to improve for better !! Atleast the opposition accepted that the Railway budget is high on vision.. but atleast its better than kejriwal's free electricity .. free water.. free this free that/... rantingss...

The correctness of budget proposals are not judged by the absence of stinging criticism by the opposition. Sometimes, the reactions to a proposal represent commonality of interests or purposes. No need to attach greatness to such unanimity

Worst ever budget in Indian history
by Raees Mohammed on Feb 26, 2015 06:59 PM  | Hide replies

Worst Railway budget ever. Looks like there is no concrete steps and not much spending for previously announced railway projects and trains leave alone announcing new trains and projects. This budget is typical Modi style. This budget is not a budget but like a dream story. Pathetic and worst ever. If this Government think that we don't need new trains for ever increasing population than they are biggest moron.

Instead of increasing the trains and not maintaining, it is better that current infrastructure is improved and think of new trains. This is a new thought, will be difficult for us to digest. Way to go people. We have given 60 long years to one party, by expecting them to do some thing good. Let us give this 5 years to this government.

The minister ended his speech saying, that the present tracks improvement has been neglected. There is a study going on this aspect. The new trains will be announced before end of this session of parliament.

I am travelling almost 15 days in trains for official tour. Need of the our is improvement in the infrastructure only now. Announcing new trains is only gimmick which was done by the previous government to satisfy their allies. It is correct and right time to improve maintenance for fastest trains and then think of new trains.

For the past 60 years the parties which ruled India have done a lot to improve the railways. You cannot deny it. Simply for the sake of criticism you should not refuse to accept the good work done by previous governments. Modi cannot do wonders within five years. After five years any body may become Prime Minister. BJP is not the only party designated to rule.

Samuel,
Just so that you know, in the past 60 years, the successive govts have only added a pathetic 20% to the railway lines as compared to the infrastructure left by the British.

You cannot clothe Sonio Antonio whose party and its past dispensations stand thoroughly exposed.

Rail Budget
by mahesh aneja on Feb 26, 2015 06:12 PM

The railway minister has shown intent to change railway infrastructure for betterment. He being a qualified person must definitely have thought abou resource creation. There is no harm in not announcing new trains when existing infrastructure is pathetic. Let infrastructure come first.A lot of small things have been announced which are going to benefit common passengers.

You are still talking about railway budget?Your own party did not approve your budget & kicked you out. you are still with them and lost the moral right to criticize the present govt. Criticize your party's deed if you have courage like Kabir Suman.

India's opposition party is the best in the world. They are champion to disrupt parliament in the name of growth.Their main motto is to paralyze the government for the betterment of poor. So, there should not be any debate in the parliament.People elected the government and let them allow freely for 5 years to govern if it is not satisfactory people will change it in the next election.

No moral right
by chandra sekar on Feb 26, 2015 05:33 PM

Mallikarjun along with Mamta Benerji, Dinesh Trivedi are chiefly responsible for making the railways so pathetic financially and operationally..Can any one believe that there was no fare revision for over 7-8 years when the cost was all going up..?..These guys have no moral right to talk. Laluji did a good job but these guys killed it all. Hope Suresh Prabhu does well
