Hunger for revenue does not permit a state to ignore the welfare of its people.

There is some country which has a major revenue contribution from prostitution.

Nitish needs to be genuinely commended.

Liquor Ban in Bihar
by rajendra tare on Dec 19, 2015 12:12 PM

Only a FOOL and a BIASED person will say it is bad economics.
Look at what losses are being inflicted with the consumption of liquor.
It affects both rich and poor, but poor is very adversely affected.
Look for people around, who spend 75% or even more of their daily earnings in liquor.
I am an eye witness watching flocks of families selling their agriculture land because of liquor and now they have become MAZDOOR.
I must congratulate Nitish Kumar for taking this brave decision.

I am worried
by Pankaj Sinha on Dec 13, 2015 11:15 PM

I am just worried for Bihar. Nitish Kumar had also other promises to keep.

Can he increase the employment opportunities for women in Bihar so that they can become financial independent?

Can he enforce proper policing to stop the domestic violence due to this so-called alcohol?

Has he seen the streets of Bangalore where people drink on road but still they are discipline?

I do not favour alcohol at the same time I don't oppose it.

Problem in India is when people drink, they drink beyond the acceptable limit which causes the issue.

When I was in UK and took 3rd peg of wine, friend there suggested to stop to avoid getting drunk.

They drink normally and we drink abnormally - This is the differnce.
