A helicopter maintains height with the help of a vertical propeller and is propelled by a different (horizontal) propeller for forward/backward movement. Its travel speed is lower. An airplane maintains height because of the vertical lift produced by its aerodynamic wings when pushed forward at some high speed by propeller/jet engines. They can fly at higher speeds. I imagine the design under discussions is just like any other airplane with provision of vertical take off/landing with the help of vertical propellers like in a helicopter. It will not need long run ways for takeoff/landing etc

The author says this is a jet but as I see the picture I guess it moves forward by using the propeller and not using a jet engine. can it get the same speed of a jet plane?
