the politicians want to make a quick buck

Farmers are getting a piitance for their products. Most of the agricultural products are controlled by politicians. If politicians want they can make good warehousing facilities, but they wont as it would reduce the prices.

That's exactly the situation.

The previous NCP leaders who are starving of power nowadays, have this as the best tool to earn fast bucks.

Their BOSS calls the shots from behind the scene.

Simple answer is that out of the stock being sold today at LASALGAON, how much is directly from small farmers???
Absolutely NIL.

It is only from the Stockist traders and the RICH farmers, who had capacity to hold the stock since they have facility to store it safely or under Cold Storage.

Ordinary farmers can never get the increased price.

The KHARIP crop is yet to get harvested & may take next 2 months.
So, it is very obvious that the political Dalals who are controlled by NCP are now making fast bucks to make hay when the Sun Shines.

Govt. must unearth the hoarders stock & make them run for their money.

Be fare

Be fare to farmer; customer/consumer should pay more for commodity which is scarce; Airlines charge more during festive seasons; theaters charge more for hit movie; forced intervention against Indian farmers is bad thing; who should compensate for low yield due to bad weather?

You mean fair, not fare. Did you read the article? It seems not. The point is that if farmers have proper storage facilities, they can get reasonable prices and everyone will benefit.

Onion
by hayavadana rao on Aug 24, 2015 10:52 PM

Onion, sugar, pulses etc is controlled by a powerful politician. He just wave his magic stick, it/they will vanish from the market and get hoarded in secret places. Govt. also get shares of profit to spend for the election. So, no action will be taken against the
hoarders.
