The govt is depriving common man the benefits of low international oil prices .How can they claim that the oil prices are market driven? As soon as they increase ,the burden goes on public but when they come down the major share goes to govt. The consumer is cheated in both cases. This surplus money will set off the loans of big industrial houses under the name of reducing NPA of banks and restructuring of loans. How Pakistan & Srilanka can sell petrol @ much cheaper rates than INdia
I've a strong feeling that all the present Union Ministers must be busy in getting themselves trained up in a hidden training center. They're taught how to support lies and false promises made before poll campaign by bigger lies and baseless unjustified arguments to befool people. Pradhan, a Minister in-charge of Petroleum & Diesel had categorically avoided to quote in numbers, he prefered answering by words which can be twisted any time, but he seems to have not mastered the art of changing figures yet and this is Gujarati way of debating. But one thing these BJP allied company must bear in their mind that they can take a smaller cross- section of people for a ride not entire group of Indian voters for many years. They must know the art of reading the "Writings of the Wall".
Govt. is fooling all class of people in our country. They won the election with full majority with this talk "Acche din aayega". So, we are feeling the "Acche Din"

We Indians are emotional fools and that is once again well used by the politicians and media played along an important role to shape them
When international price of crude was $ 115/barrel the petrol price was Rs around 75/L.Now international price of crude is 65 $ /barrel.Accordingly the petrol price should be down to Rs 43/L .The govt is not passing the benefit of low international prices to people of the country. It is pocketing this money to wave of the corporate's bad loans by restructuring them in their favour.Part of this surplus money mat be used easily to wave the farmer's loan .
I think the author is underestimating the contribution of our state to the Nation & also made a mistake. Orissa is no more official name of the state since few year back. This shows how much up to date info the author has. Dear Author, Odisha provides leading amount of minerals and Coal on virtue of which Nation's Power Supply and Finance department are running. We are peaceful people and loves to live as such. That does not mean our state is lower profile than any state in India. If you can not tolerate the inclusion of such a minister from a Tribal majority state, then please do not comment on us.
The government will reduce a small amount on petrol/diesel when the international price goes down by over 50% and that too after a long time but will increase the price within hours whenthe international price goes up. Check out the annual report of IOC and other oil companies. They are all making profit but claims that they are losing. How?

When oil prices were raising, every businessman got advantage and raised the prices. When oil price fell, he did the same as the government did, at best reduced partially. The government and businessmen are the beneficiaries of the falling prices, not the common man.

They have never lost money...even though it has been said so. Even if they have lost money it is because of the hefty payouts for their senior management staffs...not because of subsidizing
