The theory that rich should stop growth to reduce gap between the rich & the poors is wrong.It will reduce production while increasing expenditure. the gap should be filled by accelerating growth of poors ie by increasing them training as well as opportunities of employment. The rich should contribute in this effort both as social responsibility as well as to promote their business.
The country will become communist in that case because only the state will have the capability to own and run industries. In a democracy, some people have to own and run industries so that the poor May be employed. In time, a poor man can also take up entrepreneurship to become rich. This is the only way to operate in a free society. As Steve Jobs said, it may not be your fault if you are born poor but it certainly is your fault if you die poor. Of course, the government should play its part by introducing social security and child rights and protection schemes so that all are educated at least till high school.
