Ethics & Morality is all pervasive. Don't apply it selectivel

Liquor and Tobacco business is a perfectly legal business.

But is it a ethical and moral business ? Some will say Yes and some will say No.

Let's assume liquor and Tobacco is a unethical and immoral business. But can't a person involved in unethical and immoral business do any other ethical business ?

And what about so many of those involved in so many unethical businesses under the guise of ethical business ? Is education a exceptional holy cow ? Why ?

There is a lot of misunderstanding about liquor among the general public.

Liquor is not harmful to human health when taken in small amounts unlike tobacco which is totally harmful.Tobacco has no benefits while liquor helps in reducing cholesterol.

Only in India we can see the statutory warning on liquor bottles -'Alcohol consumption is injurious to health'.This statement is wrong. If you look at imported liquor bottles the statutory warning is : DRINK RESPONSIBLY .

In germany, mothers sometimes give their babies a drop or two of liquor to calm them. These babies do not grow up to be drunkards !!

This is the modern age.Drink responsibly if you like liquor.Avoid tobacco totally for good health. There should be no stigma attached to wine.It is just a relaxative.

Those who raised doubts would have wanted her to give some liquor free. Otherwise, there is no issue in this. Person has two ends. From educational institute she has to retire after some years, but she could be director in the company till her lifetime.

Legal but immoral

Nothing bars the Principal from liquor or tobacco company directorship.
Commercially, as a director her role is to increase liquor sales and business which is immoral for a principal.
Liqour and tobacco are destroying the youth of this country and the world as a very slow poison. And narcotic drugs are fastest poison doing same thing.
Liqour and tobacco contribute to safety of the nation by collecting taxes equal to defence budget and internal security budget directly.
No govt can even dream of banning both these items completely.
Regulating them is the best option to discourage consumption. I am sure that is certainly not on agenda of Indu Shahni the director.

why we connect two things . Have the govt decided the norms that a principal may be this and may not be this. and if liquor and trade relating to liquor is bad then why it is promoted and our hon,ble parliamentarian Vijay malya is the king of that. why we create controversies. may be by doing this we could create sensation on either part.

What's the problem ? She should look after conflict of interest does not arise between as Principal and as Director. I think she is good administrator of a College as, she is the administrator of a corporate house.
