D G set manufactures specify that alternators for these sets are designed for 0.8 pf, however even if the system pf on these sets is improved to 0.9 or in smaller sets say upto 3 MW upto even o.95, not only that another 15% electricity will available from the same installed capacity but diesel consumption also can be reduced by around 8%.
Why are people not choosing the solar power. If every house is equipped with solar energy then the consumption of electricity would reduce. In India there is ever increasing demand for power and solar energy should be taped in soon.
