Tourism lessons that India needs to learn:
1.      Have good, Clean, Efficient, Well equipped International airports with all state capitals/major cities. The staff should be friendly and should not treat passengers equalling to smugglers.
2.      The Taxi rank should be clearly marked with drivers who can speak English well enough so that visitors do not have a problem. Maybe only private cabs like Meru should be allowed. This point remains true for railway stations, hotels, and places of importance like monuments and museums.
3.      We need thousands of hotels that are in the range of 1000-3500 rupees that are safe even for women travellers and all basic facilities should be there.
4.      Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities need to be cleaned out of garbage, stray animals , beggars and open drains must be covered and we need to get rid of that soggy wet footpaths that we get.
5.      We need better trains with chemical toilets with 2 western style toilets in each compartment.
6.      At monuments we need boards in English explaining what the monument is about and not have unofficial guides giving cock-and-bull explanations.
7.      We need stricter punishments of hard fines plus imprisonment to apply to those who give trouble to visitors
