Its nothing but economic strangling! They import first and raise the rates within India! and cause inflation! then they ban imports so that the market crashes! the mangos being perishable will go for tail spin and so the the poor farmers in India!

But one cant deny the fact that there is problem of pesticides, and chemicals such as calcium carbide used for ripening, in our fruits. No one seems to care abt the quality of fruits and vegetables that we Indians are forced to consume.
