One in every seven doing PhD in USA is Chinese. Though Indians would like to do PhD abroad our government does not give any scholarship. Most Chinese students doing PhD in west with me have got scholarship from Chinese government. Why Indian government does not give encouragement and funding to Indians to do PhD abroad like Chinese govt.

Congress is only stuck in RTI (right to information). India needs to make R&D priority and government needs to allocate huge funding for Indians to do research either in India or abroad.

R&D spends
by Bodh Ramdeo on Feb 08, 2014 10:46 PM

What R&D? Name anything that has come out of this country in the past century???
Nothing, nada, zilch!!!
The bizniss houses all want to make loads of money without spending any on R&D...so they borrow antiquated technology from abroad, knowing they could foist obsolete products on the ignorant, backward, poverty-stricken idiot-masses with impunity.

How an indisciplined country can be compared with China, in our country, only IAS are super most, scientist, doctors and other professionals are zero before them, even good political leaders come and go, they remain in service. this is the system in our country.

Politicians in India have stolen 50% of the country's worth, what money is left to R&D? It is a joke. Just look at looter rizebag Jagan Reddy's family, worth billions.

Even with half the money stolen science can be funded well by quadrupling funding because India is a Money creator. If deficits are increased to 20% of GDP, the economy will grow at 20%. Govt deficits = private non-deficits = private savings. You can go after the stolen money later. It is not a zero sum game.
