what about a fully new TRANSIT CITY to handle global east-west air travel. Dubai want to be it,singapore too..but india is best location for east west transit city.
my opinion is that it should be close to GOA. you could have 2 or 3 such places.maybe near goa,chennai,orissa,kerala. it should have first world facilities with indian prices and have train link to nearby indian cities. tell you the truth..MILLIONS of people want to transit in india,but the facilities and look is so bad that they avoid. DO YOU WANT MONEY OR KEEP BLAH-BLABING ?
make sure that the cities LOOK GOOD !!!!!!!!!! you know when you see many western cities,from the very ..first moment.. it looks good ! increasingly,same can be said for many asian cities.(bankok for example, which would NOT be on any ones books,is quite a nice city from first view even!) you have to make each indian city look unique.focus and preserve the uniqueness. the cities ARE unique already! you just have to present it well. ofcourse you need -green trees and green belt - garden parks -good malls and shopping -good train and bus -good city maintenance crew
dont think that it takes a lot of money to make a city look good ! it dosent !it dosent ! it dosent ! you have to be a creative person and strict in some things and be good at budget
At least all mega cities should be delinked to main State, as the civil facilities and requirements are different to the requirement of State. viz. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, These mega cities should have separate Assembly or Ministries, surroundings can also be taken into it viz. Delhi is to be made greater Delhi with Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad etc., are merged with Delhi, otherwise economy of these cities are dependent on Delhi itself.

Bengaluru is dependent 1) for water on Madikeri, Mandya, Mysore 2) for electricity on Sharavati, Raichuru, Kaiga 3) for vegetables on all parts of Karnataka 4) for sand from all parts of Karnataka. Now you remove Bengaluru from Karnataka and the effect would be all these essential services will be reduced and people of Bengaluru will face a huge burden. I am sure the same applies to all other cities.
Instead, develop new cities and reduce the burden on metros and this is what is this project about.

karnataka has many cities to which growth can be diverted..mysur,dharvad,hubli,mangalur,belgaum,karvar,udupi,kodagu,dandeli,chikmagulur,hasan
