It is the need of the hour, millions are not affordable for the expensive drugs which are provided by the MNCs in India and abroad. Cipla made it possible. Salute to the Great Man, Mr.Yusuf Hamied.
Salute to the Cipla's efforts. My view is that there should not be any 'Patent' on drugs. No body should lose health/ life for unaffordable drug costs because of patent. One time Royalty/ research cost with appropriate benefits may be paid to the researcher. After all, the drug has been tested on many human volunteers who have taken the risk. Therefore costs of research, testing and trials be compensated/ refunded along with additional rewards. Manufacturing of drugs is a business and equal and fair opportunities be given to all to compete the business. Inventors of rich countries undertake trial at the cost of poor countries'people. Therefore application of patent laws in drugs be not accepted.

There should be no patent on drugs is the most ignorant statement. Do you know it takes about 10 years, 1000s of researchers and over 10 billion dollars in clinical trials to develop a new drug if lucky. Otherwise, all investment goes to waste. Who will develop the new drugs if any one can copy them as soon as they are announced? There will simply be no new drugs and people will soon be dying of uncurable diseases.
Mr. Hameed.continue ur fight against the drug monopoly.. our govt will do nothing to support you or something in country's interest.. they will just talk talk and talk..
