Just like individuals every Bank also has a character and it is alive to the needs of the customers and staff working there. All of a sudden when a new head is brought in, the whole structure gets disturbed and problems arise. As long as Dr. T M A Pai, who incorporated the bank followed by T A Pai and K K Pai, the Bank was doing very well. But when an outsider was posted as chief, he changed the structure of the Bank and the knitted relations between the officers and staff with the customers gets disturbed and slowly it's identity as Faithful and Friendly was loosing. Always the chief should be from the same Institution, so there is an attachment and obligation at every level and the Institute runs smoothly and efficiently. Because the size of the Bank has grown enormously, do not mean it is efficient but where the people will keep the surplus savings other than the Banks, and so they flock to the same Bank where their forefathers were dealing banking. I know that the new Chief may be more learned, more intelligent and capable of holding the post but his relations will not be that close than the Chief selected from their own cadre. E&OE
