This is a multinational Ploy to Promote Branded Medicine. They say 40 rs per tab Ammoxicilin/Clavulanic is safe where as Generic version of the same available for rs 6/tab is not. Interestingly both Generics and Branded are made from the same Manufacturer. Dayan bhi Ek Ghar chod ke Khati Hai.......shame on MNC's

The drugs are not spurious, it is the work force which is spurious.
India is growing and such problems will certainly arise. The govt officials are busy running behind babus and babus are busy making money. So when the concern for humanity arises it should strike the mind of the politician whether the spurious drug has affected which caste religion or area. Where is India for them.

Spurious drugs dragged Ranbaxy Down?
by Jagannath Shetty on Apr 14, 2014 03:52 PM  | Hide replies

Thousands of “poor Indian lives” are lost every minute because of spurious drugs in India. The next biggest “scam” awaiting to be unfolded is in the field of Drug adulteration. I am of the opinion that it is in the public interest that Govt may immediately notify that “The Prevention of Food Adulteration Act & Rules (as on 1.10.2004)” also covers Pharmaceutical Drugs as “food” in the Amended Act as the Central Govt is empowered to so declare under 2(v)-(c ) of the Amended Act by a simple notification in the National Gazette which action will show the sincerity of this Govt. to cleanse the public administration system and unplug the industry from Drug Mafia - besides serving a national cause. One should not be surprised if Ranbaxy was unable to understand the extent of influence of Drug Mafia and ultimately became a victim and scapegoat in the whole affair.

I agree. There is nobody to take action and if the officials take action they are transferred or sacked on fictitious grounds. During the election or when there is death politicians will extend crocodile tears. The poor will continue to live if they have a good DNA within.

Many of these drug companies are owned by big political leaders. There are many drug manufacturing units operating under Asbestos roof, though it is banned as per WHO norms. Many of these units flout all GMP norms, but get DC consent..

Check China's mindfulness in defaming Indian drug companies to capture the World market

Earlier, reports stated that China has supplied many fake drugs in the name of leading Indian pharmaceutical company brands

Our media should also consider our competitors stake when victimizing thru same side Goals

Why not ISI certification can be extended for drugs in the name of FDA etc?
