While travelling inside Australia by Tiger Air, I could not wonder why an Indian airline cannot do it when a Singaporean budget airline can. Air India should be revived.
Even now it is not too late to go back to Air India for international operations and Indian Airlines to domestic, without having any ego and admitting an inadvertant mistake. Air India should be managed by Indian professional and corporates and Indian Airlines by buerocrates and Indian professional. Ministry should only indicate policy decisions as approved by the cabinet and PM. Civil Aviation minister has to follow up the policy decisions made and he takes decisions based on the approvals given by the PM in writtting. K.NATARAJAN
Losing the national carrier would be a real bad thing for a country which is challenging and surging ahead economically against the other leading nations. We all should stay united in supporting and promoting Air India and ensure it is put back on the growth route. Hope the BJP would do that if get elected to power, at least they have some nationalist thinking I reckon.
apart from all the above reasons, the airlines calling travel agent as their Travel Partner but in return they give nothing to the Partner. no commission. Without Travel agent they cannot and never become profitable.
The book must mention the contribution of Prafool Patel and daughter for making AI the laughing stock of the world. Profitable flights to Ahmedabad closed and routes sold to mideast airlines. Hijacking the AI plane by daughter for her party.
Air India is a good airline for the following reasons: 1. Good safety record. 2. Efficient check-in and ground service 3. Almost 100% punctuality 4. All the staff are always smiling.
Life-long free tickets for Babu turned bosses of AI and anybody they like, free tickets to civil aviation ministry babus, free tickets to netas - the list is endless. They are the real kings (maharajas!) and freedom (freebie) fighters. Not only free tickets, they hire hundreds of cars for themselves all over the country and enjoy free shopping and merrymaking trips all at the cost of the airline. Not too long ago the MInister's daughter cancelled a flight diverted the plane to her native place. The misdoings are endless. So - how can Air India well?
Politicians never wanted to improve it. Past politicians wanted air Line for free travel and present politicians want to improve private Air Lines,because they get incentives from Private players.In fact the reason for country not progressing in the past 65 years is the politicians. They wanted to fill their coffers and country(including people of India)were not their priority. Look at the politicians in countries like China,Japan,Taiwan,Singapore. They work for their country and people. We do not know when will we get honest persons to lead.The country has so many natural resources except oil( Japan does not have any resources)but politicians have not done any thing.
