As a nation we are an exemption nation..............Chennai;s new terminal is an IAAI property and so you can it languishing for 4 years and still not ready ...............the whole country is going the prviatization way and Chennai with its Dravidar line of thinking has its own way .........

T3 in Delhi is still in good Shape despite opening for the Commonwealth games. It has got to do with the pure Sarkari Attitude of AAI. This will be evident once they are a year old and compared with the Delhi / Mumbai/Bangalore or even the Hyd airport. Kol and chennai Suck.it has got nothing to do with the Dravidar of the bengali attitude to work but purely the difference in a performance oriented culture in the private and public sector.

It is not about the State Govt or Central Govt which takes the decision. It is about, which party is willing to offer a better price to the ruling govt. That decides the matter. When BJP was in power, the Centaur hotel property, just opposite to Mumbai Airport was transferred to Sahara group. It can be everyone's guess who paid what. The property near airports are allocated to private parties for construction of hotels, commercial complex, etc, instead of keeping them for expansion and end up in a mess within few years. We need to learn from countries like UAE, Singapore about how they create infrastructure to expand their business and country name. Here we have one name.. corruption.

Just look at the charges Delhi is putting on the flyers. Same is happening for Mumbai. I for one am not willing to pay Rs. 1200 extra to these private looters...

Don't beat yourself or feel jealous about the new terminals!
You will find these new terminals in Mumbai and Delhi in terrible shape soon after opening, complete with bad maintenance and paan spit stains in all corners in no time!

even the new Kolkata Airport Terminal is a mess and its again contrcuted by AAI. the decision of not giving these 2 airports to private companies was taken by UPA 1 in 2006. Its the misfortune of both Kolkat and Chennai

TMC for Kolkata and DMK for Chennai ensured UPA1 takes that decision. Blame it on the local political structure.

No...It was CPIM that time in 2006. I still remember Mr Karat and Mr Yechuri threatening to pull down the govt if MMS had dared 2 privatise Kolkata and Chennai Airport

Have you seen the living conditions in the slums that surround this "World Class" facility?
We've got to admire the selective ecstasy and euphoria Indians experience whenever they are dazzled by such marginal symbols of superficial "progress"!
This the same with the real estate they buy ..... Resplendent on the inside but surrounded by the worst kind of living conditions no human being should ever be subjected to!
But then what can be expected from a country ravaged by 50 odd years of Congress party misrule!

Please show us the photos when it will be used by passengers , some of them eating & making tobacco and where they are spitting. Please keep a fine of minimum 1000 rupees for doing that ..

world class terminal should have cctv coverage installed around. which should be able to control such abuse to the surrounding environment. It is possible if it needs to be done. Some one should take and give responsibility of these.
Just Awesome Airport, T3 in Delhi and T2 in Mumbai both are in Congress Rules States. This is a fighting reply to BJP and RSS who just try to show negative things to people. This Airport Shud be named Smt. Sonia Gandhi Internatinoal Airport. We are proud of her
