During the food security bill debate in parli ament last session, Amartya Sen sugessted to pass the bill immediately ( without debate) or laks of children will go to bed with Hunger. Where Dr. Sen was for so many years after independence? Ridiculous! He was awarded Noble Prize on Social Economy , Wonder !
Amartya sen is only a social economist and has little understanding of how business and state governments work in India. just because he is an outstanding academician in his field doesn't mean his opinion is valid in areas other than his own specialization. But at times, he is a cheer leader for congress and communist parties brand of social distribution , a model that has failed every where.

Socialism was highly successful in the Soviet Union, East European countries. Even Cuba and Vietnam are lot better than India today. Just one example: if the coal mines would have stayed in the nationalised sector there would not be any Coal Scam. Corruption went up by million fold in India since 1993, when the privalisation has started.

Amartya Sen has no merit. totally lost respect for this gentleman, who has NEVER spoken a word for his fellow E Bengal Hind00s who are harassed, humiliated, killed and kicked out. Shame on Sen.
Development is an apolitical tool. But politics is a total populism in nature. Social developement is governance of a state! Mr Amatya Sen is confused! He has put the horse before the cart! Because of his inhibited assessment rather than the social one! Having been cornered he wants to justify and take credit for himself! He has stooped to ape and anti modi and pseudo-secularist statements to promote himself! What a shame ! A nobel laurate has no credibility to fame for himself but has resorted to piggyback on a religious political tricks! That sums up his apolitical and economic credentials!
amrthya sen talking without basic knowledge about mr narendra modi, he spent his full life in u s a how can a flying white colour man great indian of mr modi

Kelkar: Because there were too many anti-Bengali politicians in India since 1947. Gandhi was the leader of the pack. They drove out all Bengalis from the Congress and took away everything we had, gave us no public investments, permit, license, quota for the private sector. When there is a chance for revival in 2006, they have imposed Mamta Banu on us through EVM.

Amartya Sen is now married to the Rothchild family, who owns both the Bank of England and Federal Reserve Bank of USA. Does he need any money??
