I was appalled to see the maintainence of the new Kolkata airport when I landed yesterday morning. Apart from the immigration and the baggage collection everything else seemed to be a mess. The brand new toilets were already looking dirty with 4 staff using to brush their teeth. The parking lot was the worst. The toilet at the entrance was overflowing and people had to wade through the slippery puddle to get to their car. Garbage strewn inside welcomed. It soon dawned upon us that we are truly in Kolkata that likes to be dirty. It may be a new airport but it is shamefully dirty.
High time Kolkata got its due from the Center. The building looks beautiful, typical Bengali art. The other building that is impressive is Blore which has traditional art. Others look glitzy without any feel. The third busiest airport- Chennai which is the only profitable airport directly handled by Govt, is totally discriminated, with long delayed yet to be complete terminals. GoI should give that to private players and not milk Chennai to feed other second tier airports.

On the contrary, in india, it is not right to praise without 'base'. All parties, netas and babus have to be considered chors unless proven otherwise beyond doubt.

BJP is of course corruption free! They only like to destroy m0sques and kill Musl1ms, not steal money?
Another UDE is waiting to hit passengers pocket like in the case of DIA or BIA. Nowhere in the world have such practice of picking public money to full fill private companies. Vesy Sadddddd.

In the trains, we have to pay for tatkal and many other charges but we don't mind as the money goes to the Government and not to blood-sucking capitalists.
