by dipak anand on Feb 27, 2013 12:41 PM

Congress Ministers/Leaders feel that a common man is a foolish. They can announce anything they like and to their taste.Bansal has increased the charges up to Rs.100.00 per ticket.Who has to bear it? Congress Party, Man Mohan Singh or Soniya Gandhi, if the common man is not going to suffer.

Railways Should ensure basic Safety
by RSS on Feb 27, 2013 12:05 AM

All Tracks must have walls on either side to prevent animals / human beings from entering into unsafe territory as we are now having Electric trains that run over 160 km/hr.

The Entire function of Indian Railways must be inside Tunnels, where even birds should not be sitting on High voltage cables.

Crores of animals already lost their lives for safety negligence.

Underpasses to be provided for Human crossing and entering into Railway station.

Nobody must walk on tracks or Touch Electric poles, as they have become extremely dangerous.

The Trains we saw in our childhood were more slower and harmless, now we have Shatabdi, Duronto and WAP Engines with Electric current that are highly speedy and can kill anything (Even Elephants also) in Forest areas.

Railways must ensure Life of Animals and Humans must be treated on par when it comes to safety.

Rail Budget 2013: How Rail Minister made your life easier
by Ajit Birdi on Feb 26, 2013 11:05 PM  | Hide replies

All these measures are fine for the city and the trains.
There should be a programme to improve other smaller stations equally.
Especially where there is no gates at level crossing and footbridges.
Cleanliness and other facilities should be same as any other station.
At regular intervals (example 6 months) notices should be posted as to what measures and at which stations they have been implemented ( Example Bangalore station Lifts or escalators have been installed, Installation of toilet facilities in progress to be completed by X amount of months).
Just as it is done in UK and Europe.
This way the public can see that the measures are actually implemented and there is no white wash.

These services were already available (on paper) and will continue to be available on paper - BUT - will these services ever be really provided?

That is the reason why public should be told of implementation, So they can verify the claims.

railway fare hike
by Voxpopuli on Feb 26, 2013 10:55 PM  | Hide replies

So for the time being no fare hikes...hheheheheh...so people wait this is not a fare hike real one is still in the kitty these hawks The foolish Indians deserve this kind of treatment..they had been eagerly waiting to embrace and welcome hikes in railway fare now the floodgates are open..just wait and watch every month u will feel the music and about profit in raiways.., actually, the UPA is not running governmnet they r running business (Indian Inc) and the laggard, dangerous economist PM remembers only one lesson of economics that the prime goal of a business organization is profit maximization..again the railway is also going to be tool to finance the MNREGA a non productive scheme that creates vote bank for the UPA but will economically kill the masses particularly the middle class due to diversion of subsidies eg LPG, Diesel etc...so those expecting eagerly for fair hike must now enjoy.
