Wake of from sleep! How much of India due you know? We still have lots of meter gauges laid by the Britishers there.
Really appreciate the railway minister for such a thinking. I hope they get actioned & completed within reasonable timelines and no political interference.

The problem is not China but the people of the State of Arunachal.....several tribal elite societies have demanded in the last few years to know what would happen to the protected area/ inner line status once rail connectivity is established - the first BG line from Harmuti in Assam has been on the anvil for over five years now. Every Indian, who is not a domicile of the State, needs to get a special piece of paper called an inner line permit - which can be issued only by the Resident Commissioner of the State (only three places in India - Delhi, Kolkata & Guwahati have such an office), or by the Political Secretary's office. While other States such as Mizoram also have it, at least they offer ILP on arrival at the Aizawl airport, and this does not take much to do - just a form, and a passport size picture. In Arunachal - even that is not there. So - what is being done now?
