Please divide the GDP figure by population.
You will find that India is at the last position.
Accordingly,to the population, the GDP should have been around 11-14 trillion to be called it a developed country.

India can do far more by rapid development of Infrastructure. First and foremost, we have to bundle all politicians at the Union and state levels and drop them off in the deepest part of the ocean and start with a clean slate. The inherent culture of Indian politician is to be corrupt and pollute the whole system. Unless the people at the core change their attitude and believe strongly that politicians and government officials are nothing but servants of the public and they can be removed summarily for any wrong doing, India's transformation as the world's power centre is going to be painfully slow and aneamic.

We are conditioned to believe politicians are alike and if one corrupt party is removed the next one to take the former's position will be equaly corrupt, if not more. This mindset has to change and we should demand corruption-free Government and get it. Jai Bharat.

India Needs visionaries...
by tadepalli ramamohan prasad on Aug 15, 2013 05:46 PM

It's unfortunate that India did not have visionaries in the post independence India!with poor infrastructure, lack of bare minimum necessities like drinking water, health care, education to 70% of Indian population that lives in rural areas! While 10% of Urban population have these available, the rural sector remains neglected!68 yrs is a long period poverty, illiteracy, poor health ,rampant corruption, money, muscle power caste, creed & community discrimination keep the country backward!

What a big gap between the 2nd and 3rd rank holders.
There are 2 groups: US and china in one group
India and other European countries another - which is way behind.
The 3rd group is poor.

Mind you, India is still poor. The real test is the percapita income and by this yard stick, China and India need to cover a lot of space.
