in 2010 a press release from NASDAQ said Indian ER&D has grown from 1.4Bn$ in 2004 to 10Bn$ in 2010. Now it says in 2012 its 10.2Bn$. Which is single digit growth below 1% from 2010 to 2012. It also mentioned ER&D would be 24Bn$ in 2015 however this time around given the uncertainity it decided to take a time frame far far away from any scruitiny & put the deadline as 2020. In many ways Indian NASSCOM works pretty much like Government which gives figures far away in horizon without any firm data to validate its claim

The overall ITES Industry in 2010 was 60Billion USD. By that count almost 18% of that coming from ER&D itself is a fallacy
