none haveprerequisite qualification to hold the ministerial posts
by gangadhara on Sep 28, 2012 01:48 PM

Most of these ministers come from law studies background. They hold the posts of ministers by musical chair ,each time a reshuffle takes place,or somebody looses his post,as he cannot be in office and prison at the same time. They never had a formal ,prerequisite education appropriate for the post. They are on probation, on L board , on the job trainee always, piloting ,a loaded train/ship carrying 1.3 billion people, as an apprentice. Groping in the dark . Zero basic math abilities. An election win cannot turn a nincompoop into a genius.
Is there any point in expecting them to do anything at all for the country.

Economist and Honest - my Foot.
by Jagdish Reddy on Sep 14, 2012 03:49 AM

This old fart, can not even operate a computer or an engineering calculator. He is the chief of cabinet when natural resources are being distributed free of cost to the rich and kith and kin of politicians, still claims that he is an ECONOMIST - my FOOT.
The deal is, he will not take money for himself but will allow all the corrupt around him to loot the country and he will close all his holes. In return, he can continue to be PM and is just a mask of the UPA2 which is corrupt. He is honest PM, how come all these corruptions are taking place nice under his nose. Honest - MY FOOT.

PS: I am a mining engineer with 10 years of coal mining experience. I also have a master's in engineering with economic evaluation of projects.

Let me explain here, mining of any resource, either it is coal or gold or any other mineral, can be mined for different overburdens and from difficult situations. The variables are operating costs, value per ton of coal, investment required and rate of returns.
The best way to determine the value of any block of coal is to have some technical committee that will determine the value of the blocks based on these variable values which you can plug in, then make the minimum bidding price for each block. Make this value not permanent but change it every year or so. Do not give away these blocks for free. India has so many poor people living under poverty line. If any PM is responsible for this, how can he be honest and an economist?

Scrap them quick. There are so many other cleanings to do or areas to focus on.Reallocate blocks later judiciously as required , inviting roles from every one.I guess most of them are not operational blocks any way.

What do you mean by they "are not operational blocks". Depending the value of coal per ton and the technology used, you can mine difficult blocks. Even if it is difficult to mine, there are ways and means to work them. The policy needs to be set correctly, so call for open tenders and give to the best bidder. Also have a minimum value for each block. Employ some expert technical advisory committee for the minimum bidding price for each block.
The Job of the Government is form rules and regulations so that natural resources are not given free. Here is a country where farmers are committing suicides for not able to pay loans. And your government is giving away natural resources to kith and kin of ministers for free. Shame on India and Indians who are not protesting against this.

Coal Block Allocations
by anand p on Sep 13, 2012 03:49 PM

Coal is a natural resource. It is not that necessary to consume the entire coal available in the country at a stroke. Rather as coal is available in market you can import the same now. Our PM is an excuse man. Allocating coal block without getting returns itself was foolishness. The deals are to be scrapped forthwith. He is a companion of scams and wherever he goes it will accompany him eg. his major assignments - Reserve Bank Governer - BCCI closure - Finance Minister - Harshad Metha - UTI scam - now PM - 2G & Coalgate. He should himself get out, failing which people of India will kick him out. No more useless debates. Anand

Keep the coal-block allotments on hold.
Estimate the correct loss, find out the persons responsible for that, recover the amount. Then release the coal -blocks as per the required terms and conditions.

COAL BLOCK SHOULD NOT BE SCRAPPED, BECAUSE IT WILL BECAME MUCH DIFFICULT FOR BUREAUCRATS AND POLITICIANS TO PAY BACK WHAT THEY HAVE GAINED FROM LOOT OF COAL BLOCKS

Coal Blocks

More and more revelations are tumbling out on the Coal gate. Certainly the whole allotments made to benefit a few at the cost of the exchequer should be scrapped. It was a revolting sight to watch the obese congress spokesperson laughing out loud like a hyena while answering questions on the Coalgate note. This after the CWG and 2G with no sense of shame. All those involved should be prosecuted and put behind bars.

Scrap coal block allotment
by premshanker gupta on Sep 13, 2012 03:25 PM

It is now crystal clear that coal blocks allotments were irregular and many cases unjustified. Therefore, like 2G spectrum case, these coal block allotments must also be cancelled and reallotted on auction basis to eligible bidders only. Not doing so will amount to encouraging corrupt practices.
