If employability is low then what the MBA's are doing.they must be doing to earn their livelihood.Similar statement was made by N.N.Murthy about engineers
Re: Employability

MURTHY is gone mad why should ENGINEERS work for IT companies those who work are USELESS ENGINEERS and hance they go to IT
What the report wants to state is not clear? There was a similar statement by NN Murthy that less than 25% engineers are employable.Quality of education in our country is a issue.Since empolyability is low hence they are taken as management trainees.Industry has to recruit people from india only.they can't afford to bring people from first world countries.the students of top institutions are costly hence only the top companies can only afford them.
flipside- lesser competition .. talent crunch means those who are good benefit. hope it stays tht way. wouldnt want too much disturbance to demand-supply equation.
1. Look for candidates who can apply "Logical Reasoning; Intuition; and Commonsense ( I term it LIC)" to solve problems in a pragmatic way irrespective of whether they hold a MBA degree or not.
2. In fact candidates with such aptitude as above complemented with knowledge/interest of/in Science; Tech; Engineering and Math will be the REAL need for Industry; Business; Commerce; Health; and others.
3. Education & training today needs to focus on developing the holistic and integrative profile of students so as to get themselves fit for a variety of interactive scale of jobs.
Re: What to look for ?

Superb list Raja!
And to add another one to the list ..... On the job training during the course of the MBA program or successful completion of a small project in a reputable company MUST be a graduation requirement!
Like any colleges mushrooming in Engineering and Medical stream MBA Institutions too have mushroomed, however with least emphasis on quality of education. Today one can buy a fake degree from any corner of the country and enhance his/her qualification. MBA has become a degree for name sake to boost the ego and get the degree printed on the visiting cards. Now a days MBAS from B-Schools and C-Schools are looking for job as counter sales persons in super markets and stores.
