Globally no governance ever wants the people to know certain facts that are morally questionable.
In the name of political privilege and the common good of the people and the taxpayer most governances the world over manipulate their monetary mechanism to suit their convenience to favour their favourites and in the process get huge and unbelievable cuts.
CAG lifting lids of such leads is hated by the governance irrespective of its hue.

Cheaters Association is new name for CA Institute..Most of the CAs giving criminal ideas to get huge Audit fee. In India most of the CAs are practicing to earn wealth for their next generation...

Dear ABH: What is being debated here is the role of the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) and not CA (Chartered Accountant). Whereas the CAG is a fact finder a CA is a pathfinder; he knows the rules of the game and navigates his clients in as far as possible into legitimate ways of saving taxes. Even for dodging taxes in a legitimate but questionable ways CA is an indispensable tool for the taxpayer. CAG is different. If the slip is showing he reports it is showing.
