You are right. I have also heard these things happen in companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro. Is your girlfriend in one of those?

Not all roads in US are empty.... Some places have traffic jams like the ones we see here.... But I guess delivering more pizzas helps them earn more money. Maybe thats why every delivery boy seems to be in a hurry...... :)

Even if US roads are busy ,car drivers will obey the traffic rules. The motorists will not be crushed like in India .Hence ,This delievry concept has to be reviewed.

That is what, lots of people are trying to do. Live the Indian way of life in harmony with the nature. Now, economists have taken over the country and allow FDI in everything, to make money and come up with no-sense statistics that say country is growing.

US roads are a class above Indian, NY traffic jams in the morning are worst than any city in India. The major factor is the enforcement of driving rules. There both motorist and marshals adhere to procedure and traffic signals. In India since we are a reservation based country - concessions are made based on caste / creed / religion by the police force and various political organizations. Not to mention the references of politicians who are quoted in times of offenses committed by drivers or better still direct calls made - Here the police officer is forced to let go the guilty....

it is not limited to delivery boys/taxi drivers. in calcutta cause private bus drivers work on commission basis, more the no of trips he makes more the money. so imagine the mad race on public roads day and night 365 days. also drivers of trucks these days are reckless especially those carry perishables as reaching the mandi/market on/in time fetches him extra money and he will risk his and ur life on the road/hiway...the stories r endless...where do u go??
We can do our bit by decreasing our craving for home delivery, specially pizzas. In their intention to make quick deliveries, the guys jump signals and drive rashly.

u r taking a very limited view.....include sundry delivery ppl..including drivers ...courier guys...installation ppl....list will be long...in india we never valued lives...look at the police deptt...we live a sub human life..day out day in....
Because of bad condition of our roads and unruly traffic, every one faces death in India every day.Shame on Sonia_jee's congress which made the country a big slum in last 6 decades..
even being pedestrian is danGerous in indian cities ! sometimes you have to stand on a divider and can get hit by mirror of bus that protrudes riders are mounting footpath in bengaluru all the time
even being a pedestrian is hazardous in metros. in bengaluru, riders are mounting footpath . once i saw a whole pack of 10-15 riders on footpath. also when you cross the streets..you have to stand on a stone divider for long time and you can get hit by mirror of buses that protrudes from bus. dangerous at night

Devanna, the growth of Bengaluru is not in one direction, but in all directions. Rate of increase of people is far more than the rate of development of infrastructure.
