Some very prominent Indians had openly spoken in favour of Rajat which could rather be interpreted, unfortunately, as if insider trading ought not to be taken too seriously. This is largely a moral issue. In Bharatvarsh the insider trading is rampant, however, with improper or inadequate policing. In any case it just cannot be defended. Legalizing is a far cry.
Rajat's appeal may unfold some favourable outcome for him unless the circumstantial evidence is further supported by substantial evidence. He did speak to Galleon after all at the wrong time. What he spoke is a mystery.
