Urbanisation
by arungopal agarwal on Jun 15, 2012 10:46 AM  | Hide replies

Humans have controlled death, average age in China, India etc, is double from 1950, but population control has not taken place, particularly in India, our politicians are even afraid of talking about. Land cannot be increased, urbanisation and industry is the only solution.

Where is urbanisation in India ?

Urbanisation is a process. It starts with planning and manufacture of cities with systematic approach.Cities are first made suitable for living conditions providing all basic infrastructure and amenities.

Once such cities are built, surrounding it comes up various job creating opportunities like the service industry as well industrial parks.

Then government plans to reduce involvement of people in agriculture sector by improving agricultural techniques and supplying high yielding seeds.

Then government encourages people to move to the well planned cities which can provide food_job_shelter and good quality of life for the people.

What India witnessing is SLUMisation_and_not_urbanisation.

first and foremost...reduce burden on existing 7-8 top cities...then and then only slums will decrease...higher migration leads to higher cost of residence..

barun please note

Medan is not in java. It is in North sumatra.

If you take a train ride of 12 hours from jakarta to surabay fromsurabaya to banuyangi , you will realise that java is still a picturesque rural area. Thers is not much urbanisation beyound jakarta, Semaarang, malang and Surabaya. you need to travel to areas this side before writing such bookish article. Your figures are all junked.. indonesia is mainly agricultural country whose 44% GDP is from Agri products like palm oil, cocoa, Coconut oil, spices, cashew, marine fish,arecanut,rattan,clove...indonesia se palm oil nehi jayega to india ke kitchen bandh ho jayega... your article smacks raw rookiness--- not knwoing real facts-- cut and paste college project type..
