Stop harping about the past and stop dividing the country on the basis of race. Concentrate on the future and see what can we achieve. Our future, as a nation depend on what we can do now and in future and now what happened in the past is not going to help us now.

History brings knowledge to avoid future mystery!
South was like a haven all the way due to less intervention unwanted external kingdom. That’s how they could achieve so much. Even now most progress happen in south, but diluted by our central government and poor financial planning from north.
I think we need United states of India rather than one India!

Absolutely right. Ancient Tamil is mother of all languages including Samskrtam. Evidence is pouring in day by day. Proud to be from the Dravidian race.

Is this a new addition to Mongloid, Caucasian and Negroid race. Indian will use any source, invent any excuse and use all sort of nonsensical arguementy to divide themselves. One is all for self-respect, but such the above statement may well have come from Nazis.

What is the Indian race? Don't we have any race identity?

Dravidian is the original race of Indian but now it is wrongly linked to few language groups

Now, India/Indian has mix of all races due to invades and trades

Brahmi script came from the North. A lot of what you said is Tamil civilization is influence from North India including the Buddhism and Jainism. Every state in India had a glorious history and culture and is part of a common Indian culture. It's better not to belittle any state or region but celebrate our common heritage

Ministers under MMS owe their First and Only loyalty to SoniaGand
by RedTomatoez on Jun 18, 2012 12:17 AM

reducing MMS to a puppet and basically MMS is nothing.

And so, the entire leaders of the world take gratuitous pleasure in kicking around the PM of India.

Never has there been a more collective degradation of the office of prime minister.

Who is responsible for this? S0NIA ! Also MMS himself, for remaining a WORMandINSECT.

BIG discovery: A 2,500-year-old industrial estate!
by Prabhakar Waghodekar on Jun 17, 2012 02:49 PM  | Hide replies

The findings of 2500 years old indl estate is eye opener to indian intellectuals who believe that engineering & technology is the gift of West. There are thousans of thosands of pieces spread all over India like caves, temples, guns, forts, minars, palaces and masjids, etc., showing rich technology of India in the past. We need to teach correct history of India, unearth out technology talent, bring to surface our sciences including medical, astronomy, etc. Be one with the soil. Oh! Indian intellectuals connect yourself to Indian soil and bring the golden age again. Curb out Slave mind-set!

To small brother: were there nuclear, vaiationand rocket anywhere in 5000yr or 2500yr ago? You have to compare like with like Mr Small-minded. The technology creation is critically dependent on ability to organise.

1. It is not just the Technology alone, it is more about the Business and Sea Trade relationship we had with Middle east, Europe and Asia pacific. It is quiet wrong to study the Indian history that Vasco da Gama discovered the sea route to India. It should be rediscovered the sea route to India.

2. The language used to record the events during that period was Prakrit and not Tamil or Sanskrit. It is quiet clear and evident that Prakrit is used across India till elimination Buddhism from India. This also proved by most of the In-do-china ancient Indian rulers like Khemer, Champa etc were using the same Prakrit or localized version of it. We are not studying the history of Prakrit language and it glory and failings in Indian history books, which shows we have been thought to study the biased winners stories which are partially right.

You are wrong in saying that ancient India had sea trade links with Europe.

There was no such link at all !

India's sea links extended only upto the Persian, Arabian and African coasts! From there, the goods used to be transported over land to Europe. There were several such land routes from the Arabian and Persian (Iranian) coasts.

These land trade routes continued to be used till the rise of the Ottoman empire in the 14th century. The Ottoman (Turkish) empire cut off these land routes that passed through their territory as they were hostile to the European trading countries of those times.

Trade became extremely difficult as there were few alternative routes (trade using these alternative routes involved carrying merchandise through the extremely dangerous African continent).

It was then that the European merchant community began looking for an end-to-end sea route to reach India and beyond. They knew that India could be reached by sea from the writings of Ptolemy (although they did not know where the African continent ended and where the Atlantic joined the Indian ocean).

It was this highly sought after sea-link right from Europe to India that Vasco-da-Gama finally discovered.

Go and read south Indian history carefully to identify the sea trades (Go to section Foreign sources).

Also, suggest you to refer Indo-Roman trade relations from wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-Roman_trade_and_relations

It clearly shows the sea trade relation with ancient Europe (Roman and Greeks) happened through Red sea and Mediterranean sea from Tamil kingdoms before Christian era

The modern days sea route was found by Vasco-da-Gama via Africa continent

Sam Raj !

You did not read what I have written, did you??

You saw my statement that 'there was no sea link between Indian kingdoms of yore and Europe' and wrote whatever you did!!

Now, read my write up fully and understand.

There was no Suez canal in those days. So, the question of ships travelling directly from Indian ports to Europe through the Red Sea and the Mediterranean did not arise!

As I wrote, the goods were transported upto the Persian/Arabian coasts (the Persian gulf or up the Red sea) and then transported over land through Turkey and Greece to Europe. Alternately, goods might have also been transported across the Mediterranean (after being transported overland from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean coast).

So, read posts carefully before advising people to 'go and read history carefully' !!

Indian people have accepted and adopted this system for so many centuries, in fact APAC region and indo-china ancient Indian rulers adopted Buddhism over Hinduism due to its social divide and rule policies which is one of the reason for Buddhism got spread-ed outside India and not Hinduism
