Chennai is the bluecollared city now

With the rise in manufacturing jobs and stagnation of IT in Chennai, prices have actually not bad as it seems. On a recent visit I found many things cheaper now.
However the rise in construction and manufacturing jobs has changed the dynamics of the city. It has become more lower-middle class now, than ever before. Bengaluru on the other hand is highly westernized and cost of living has gone up significantly higher if you take real estate together. Delhi and Mumbai are still as expensive as some US cities, although infrastructure is pretty pathetic.

Each state in India should have a unique currency to prevent Euro/USSR type collapse.
