Dev, you must see the size & population of an area before comparing. With all its disadvantages India has emerged a very strong developping nation which is not a small feat.

Donot always blame the Govt. The progress India has made in last 50 years is enormous . Britishewrs would not have done a fraction of it.We are in the hasbout of projecting negative things only. Be positive in approach. The only negative aspect has been explosion in population due to whic the progress as made looks negligible. Let us all try to tackle this problem. This is more serious than any other problem including corruption even.

I think China population is much more than indai and it's size too. Then how china is maintaining their country so well? Well, the problems r not only population or size, it is only corruption. 50% of indian taxes r going to politicians pocket then how a country can grow? We sud learn from china.

look for rajiv dixits videos on youtube and you will understand what dev and terminator are talking about. your eyes will open when you understand the political loot. well said terminator about china. look how japan was in tatters when 2 nuclear bombs were thrown on it. A small country where 7 scale earthquakes are routine and still has skyscrappers much better in india. Look how they handled tsunami. In india they are not able to clear the bhopal gas tragedy site till today. Victims are still begging for money. dear moderator don't delete my comments please.

lack of unity is the biggest hurdle in India. political will is absent and more of freebies are offered at the cost of development. It is unfortunate that the govt is spending crores of rupees to uplift one community while taking the country backward. Dividing a country based on caste relegion and region has damaged the very fabric of India. I wish to see an united India and Indians commited to the development of Our country.

Shanghai, Beijing, and several other cities in China are on the lines of Hong Kong, even without the British ruling them. What does that tell you? Kick the scumbag politicians out and things will fall in place. Not that China doesn't have its own share of crooked politicians, but they can be shot dead for corruption.

Hey, wishing british ruled india .. for our cities to be good is like wishing we grew up later so that our mom/dad could have done all the work for us !!

Remember, a society which doesnot have it in them to build something, usually are not capable to even maintain what they inherit ...

The most important thing to learn from them is how they eliminated the pre world war ii corruption of British Raj. 60's through 70's say intense clean up and once cleaned no one could stop HK becoming what it has become now ,one of the best administered places on earth today
