I have had the opportunity to study major foundations across the globe including the B-M G foundation. Honestly, i am shocked the way people commeercalize charity & healthcare for human beings. Apart from global brand appeal, these foundations primarily missions out to further their business. for instance the purchases and contracts awarded in the establishing , operating and implemeting of thee variopus agendas of these fpoundations are meant only to further their own business interests. They ahve hidden motives to promote pharma products, IT hardware that is sourced back from their own produce, tenders are floated only to ensure that the RFPs r suchdesigned to get business for their business alliances and sbu\'s . but finally the flag ship co gets the title of a charity foundation. this goes well with MOST of the foundations includign the above mentioned, but having said such, there r some good ones still unhder the sun including the wirpo foundation that seems to be doing really good...Readewrs, hence watch out on the foundations on how they operate.. it is a smart way of taking money from one pocket and puttign it into the other and yet gettign the mileage of public appeal as the best advertising way plus various other tax benefits and business for oneself.

You are 100% right. I would like to say that majority of these 'Foundations' are only aimed at advertising and building brand image. The commercialization of Charity is the agenda. By giving 100 they make 1000 & improve image and reputation. Now a days every business group start a charity foundation and publicize it in every possible way. This is the modern CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

Mukesh Ambani is supposed to have spent $2 billion dollars on his monststrosity, Antilla. He must see what a beautiful campus has been built at a fraction of that.

from my interaction with the gates foundation, they are real serious people, and absolutely determined to eradicate global suffering and diseases of 'mass elimination'. For them its okay to set up a dazzling campus, am sure every penny would be worth the investment.

Dude can you tell me one major disease that has been eradicated after polio, so even though Gates foundation means serious efforts Polio, Malaria and smallpox that is as far as they can go, nothing more than that, even with their billions because the big corporations won't let it happen!

Re: Why does bill gates pay US debt

He earned for himself, did not generate any debt, then why he should repay the debt - created by misdeeds of others? As such he is doing charity work in education & medicine.
