What you are talking has been known to mankind for years. It is just the politically correct class, which somehow prides itself in saying that women have disadvantage. In fact women have been on kept on pedestal for thousands of years and they keep enjoying the privileges, while asking all others to declare them as victims. Women in any society ever, as a class, have always been valued more than men. From S ati to dowry, if you scratch the surface it is women who have been beneficiaries.

FF said "From Sati to dowry,if you scratch the surface it is women who have been beneficiaries".I am only asking how women can benefit from these pernicious practices.

Good question...let me explain S ati first...because it pinches out psuedo liberal s more than anythings else...pick up data beetween 1811 and 1822, normalize against todays population and you will find out that number of women dies in sati were close to 500. Now compare it against the number of men dying in wars in those days, under the gard to protecting women. Men die in wars were close to 5000 a year in those days. If you naormalize it to todays population, it will be close to 1 Lac men dying every year.

You call those who oppose sati, pseudoliberals.(Raja Ram Mohun Roy among them?).The 500 widows who are burnt are to be called beneficiaries because 5000 men died in the war?Fantastic logic!Do you have any statistics about what happened to the widows of these 5000 men? What about dowry?Does this practice also benefit the women?Should we legalise dowry and ignore the dowry deaths (of which I am sure you have enough statistics)?

If men were taking care of the home front and women were made to protect and provide men and kids, we would know who is oppressed in society and who are second class citizens.
